Welcome to Gisborne Boardriders Club.
The region’s consistent waves and great weather provide our surfers with optimal surfing conditions, whether they are just surfing for the fun of it or competing at a local, national or international level.
For us it is all about sharing the stoke. Our goal is to create more opportunities for kids and make surfing more accessible. With our surf related social events we try to bring the Gisborne surfing community together and provide platforms for sharing the love for our sport.
Together with our local partners and the help of the Gisborne community we aim to establish a generationally sustainable platform for development and growth of the sport of Surfing.
The annual gathering of Gisborne Boardriders Club (GBC) members is an opportunity to award the year's notable surfers, announce entries of the Hall of Fame, and life memberships.
The longboard surfing competition held on Saturday to support the Tauawhi Mens Centre raised $400 and the surfers enjoyed a day of clean 2-3 foot waves at the “Red Bus” surf break at Makorori.
