GBC Super Series
We are running at least 3 club competitions a year to give our local surfers time to practice, but also crown our club champions. Proudly sponsored by Neighborhood Pizzeria, Gisborne Scaffolding, Gisborne Fisheries and Ray Scragg Motors.
Dates 2021: 14th March, 8th May, 20th Nov
Divisions: U12, U14, U16, Junior Girls (U16), Open, Women, >50s, >60s.

The Gathering of Stoke - Longboard Classic
We celebrate and promote the sport of Longboarding on a regular basis, share our knowledge and just have a good time together with some food and coffee. Once a year we bring on a special event, inviting surfers from across New Zealand. The Stoke celebrates Longboarding at its finest.
Divisions: Open Men, Open Women, Juniors, Over 50s, Over 60s, Novice

Interclub Comp
We love to share the passion for our sport with other clubs. Once a year we invite Boardriders Clubs from around NZ to compete here in Gizzy.
Proudly sponsored by New Wave, this comp traditionally runs on Labour Day weekend in October here in Gizzy.

Multiple times a year we get together, free surf, get videoed and celebrate the best air, proudly sponsored by Authentic Pilates.

OPSM Tairawhiti Junior Champs
Every February Tairawhiti's junior surfers get together and celebrate a day of surfing. Divisions include: Push-in, year 6 and below, year 7/8 and year 9/10, girls and boys.
Tairawhiti High School Champs
Every March Tairawhiti's best high school surfers get together to find the U14, U16 and U18 Boys and Girls champs.
NZ Scholastics Squad
Every year in the term 3 school holidays the best high school kids compete in the NZ Scholastics champs. Gisborne Boardriders Club is selecting the team and helping organise the trainings.
GromLab
Every October after the NZ Primaries are held in Gisborne, we are running a 4-day high performance surf camp in collaboration with Matt Scorringe from the Art of Surfing. NZ best groms surfers attend and learn all about surfing technique, heat drills, mental skills,...
