We are running at least 4 club competitions a year to give our local surfers time to practice, but also crown our club champions.
Dates 2019: 16th Feb, 16th Mar, 14th Sep, 23rd Nov
Divisions: U12, U14, U14, Open, Women, >50s, >60s
We celebrate and promote the sport of Longboarding on a regular basis, share our knowledge and just have a good time together with some food and coffee.
All divisions: Open Modern, Open Log -> heats drawn out of a hat
Dates: 31st Mar, 28th Apr, 20th Oct, 8th Dec
Spot prize for: Surfer of the day (female/male), MVV (Most Valuable Volunteer). Proudly sponsored by Far East Coffee and Sunshine Brewery.
We love to share the passion for our sport with other clubs. At least once a year we try to go up or down the cost and run a comp with our clubs.
Tag team events or big wave shootouts get the crowd pumping and offer lots of fun.
Mini Groms (8-11yr) and Grom Squad (11-14yr) coaching will take your surfing to the next level.
Term 1,2 and 4 for all young surfers who want to develop their competitive surfing.
Learn from one of the best in the game. Dan Croskery offers longboard coaching all year around.
NZ Scholastics Squad
Every year in the term 3 school holidays the best high school kids compete in the NZ Scholastics champs. Gisborne Boardriders Club is training the team, organises the trip and selects the best young surfers of our region.
